Occupy is on the march. But during this day of activism well over 100 have been arrested and well over ten have been injured. Coverage has emphasized injuries to some five police officers, none serious. The Mayor has definitely implied that trouble emanates from Occupy.
The moral is that there will be no fair coverage because coverage is part of what Occupy has to deal with by dealing with society as it is. The inference is that it makes sense to choose actions that are hard to pin as disruptive. Strikes seem to me the most potent weapon.
Nevertheless it is interesting to see Occupy deal with the slanted media. Given popular sympathy for Occupy, I think it is doing very well thank you. What is obvious is that the movement builds. I hope it is a century long movement because it will take a century to achieve the necessary remaking of this world.
"In the future days, which we seek to make secure, we look forward to a world founded upon four essential human freedoms.
The first is freedom of speech and expression -- everywhere in the world.
The second is freedom of every person to worship God in his own way -- everywhere in the world.
The third is freedom from want -- which, translated into world terms, means economic understandings which will secure to every nation a healthy peacetime life for its inhabitants -- everywhere in the world.
The fourth is freedom from fear -- which, translated into world terms, means a world-wide reduction of armaments to such a point and in such a thorough fashion that no nation will be in a position to commit an act of physical aggression against any neighbor-- anywhere in the world."
Strikes are better than disruptions Simply because as a message to the worldA stoppage is a more nonviolent actAnd can be more massive at the same timeDisruptions elicit false reporting slanted to official narrativesThey turn off viewersA focused strike aimed at fairness andAffirmation of the four freedomsIs apposite Global Online Privacy
This is par for the course in the Lone Star state. A cauldron of hatred for our President just as it was in 1963 when the target was JFK. This woman is the dregs. Part of the dynamic that I have long called the jaws of hell. The biggest error of conspiracy theorists has been to ignore the probability that Oswald acted alone or in concert as part of a conspiracy. Somebody ran Oswald just as someone ran James Earl Ray and most probably Sirhan Sirhan. Single shooters fail. Successful ones are assisted by an operative culture of hate, an environment that tilts and tilts until evil manifests in all its resplendence and banality. That the woman could say she was joking suggests that she has been schooled in the same bilious yard occupied by Rick Perry.
