Three reasons why Mitt Romney Should Release His Pre-2010 Tax Returns

One

People will legitimately wonder if there were years when he paid no taxes

During his Bain years he associated with vulture capitalist Paul Singer
and invested in debt that squeezed residents of third world countries

His release of only two years of taxes brackets him with loser John McCain
another person who was deemed out of tough with ordinary folk

There are many more reasons
The issue is not going away

All the more reason we should insist Mitt censure Rush

Would Mitt Like To Fire Bain Employee Rush Limbaugh? | National Memo | Breaking News, Smart Politics: "In the wake of Rush Limbaugh's torrent of ignorant misogyny, just about everyone has jumped to condemn the conservative radio host's comments. Several of Limbaugh's corporate sponsors have dropped him, and politicians from both sides of the aisle -- such as Nancy Pelosi and John Boehner -- have denounced him. Even anti-contraception culture warrior Rick Santorum has labeled Limbaugh "absurd."

One notable exception? Republican presidential frontrunner Mitt Romney, who has been silent on the issue. Here's a fun possible reason why the "King of Bain" won't speak up:

The Rush Limbaugh Show is aired by Premiere Networks, a massively profitable syndication network which is owned by Clear Channel Communications.

Clear Channel Communications is owned by Bain Capital."

The BP Settlement Has Miles To Go Before It's Done

Accord Reached Settling Lawsuit Over BP Oil Spill - NYTimes.com: "David M. Uhlmann, who headed the Justice Department’s environmental crimes section from 2000 to 2007, said, “The plaintiffs’ steering committee really needs to reach a settlement with BP” because otherwise it could face years of litigation and might obtain less at trial than it could receive in a settlement.

At the same time, said Mr. Uhlmann, now a professor at the University of Michigan law school, said, “BP really needs to reach a settlement with the government” which could extract many more billions from the company in civil and criminal proceedings. Moreover, he said, the company would like to avoid the embarrassment of having its mistakes paraded in open court."

Romney takes AZ and is pulling away in Michigan

In Michigan too close to call is looking like a win for Romney
I am sure it will either be razor thin or a fairly decent victory tor Mitt
This will push Santorum back to an also ran and
elevate Gingrich to an eventual tie or better with Santorum
As I write Romney is ahead by 10K votes
UPDATE
The margin has doubled with 51 percent of the votes in
Remember the networks have time to fill
I'll come back if the pulling away headline needs changing.

Blackwater Is A Stain on America

NYT: Web of Blackwater companies revealed - World news - The New York Times - msnbc.com: "The Senate Armed Services Committee this week released a chart that identified 31 affiliates of Blackwater, now known as Xe Services. The network was disclosed as part of a committee's investigation into government contracting. The investigation revealed the lengths to which Blackwater went to continue winning contracts after Blackwater guards killed 17 Iraqi civilians in Baghdad in September 2007. That episode and other reports of abuses led to criminal and Congressional investigations, and cost the company its lucrative security contract with the State Department in Iraq."

What is She, A Freak?

Mitt Romney, Michigan and a Couple of Cadillacs - NYTimes.com: "He did it again on Friday. At the end of a speech about his economic plan before the Detroit Economic Club, when it felt as though he was just winging it, he said: “I love this country. I actually love this state. This feels good being back in Michigan. Um, you know the trees are the right height. The, uh, the streets are just right. I like the fact that most of the cars I see are Detroit-made automobiles. I drive a Mustang and a Chevy pickup truck. Ann drives a couple of Cadillacs, actually.”"

What was Mitt thinking of?

Mitt Romney’s Ford Field Fumble:

"Mr. Romney could be seen standing at a lectern in front of a backdrop that had the logo of the Detroit Economic Club. And when the audience — about 1,200 people — clapped, they filled the TV screen as cameras panned across them.

But in the age of Twitter and the Internet, that is not all that matters.

Even before the speech started, reporters began tweeting out pictures of the 65,000-seat stadium — completely empty, except for the chairs set up on the field itself, near the 20-yard line."

No Kill Zones in Syria ASAP

How to Halt the Butchery in Syria - NYTimes.com: "There is an alternative. The Friends of Syria, some 70 countries scheduled to meet in Tunis today, should establish “no-kill zones” now to protect all Syrians regardless of creed, ethnicity or political allegiance. The Free Syrian Army, a growing force of defectors from the government’s army, would set up these no-kill zones near the Turkish, Lebanese and Jordanian borders. Each zone should be established as close to the border as possible to allow the creation of short humanitarian corridors for the Red Cross and other groups to bring food, water and medicine in and take wounded patients out. The zones would be managed by already active civilian committees."

Santorum Seems Done

Santorum seems done
Almost on the run
It must have been fun
His time in the sun
But it was quite scary
Star chambers and all
Censorious specters
Humongous condemning
Startling bile

Rick softened us up
To cotton to Romney
As the preferred option
To his true believing

Ralph Reed can go fish
For some other occasion
To take his revenge
On the role
He has chosen

Mutated Trout and We Don't Need Regulation?

Mutated Trout Raise New Concerns Over Selenium - NYTimes.com: "Photographs of variously mutated brown trout were relegated to an appendix of a scientific study commissioned by the J. R. Simplot Company, whose mining operations have polluted nearby creeks in southern Idaho. The trout were the offspring of local fish caught in the wild that had been spawned in the laboratory. Some had two heads; others had facial, fin and egg deformities.

Yet the company’s report concluded that it would be safe to allow selenium — a metal byproduct of mining that is toxic to fish and birds — to remain in area creeks at higher levels than are now permitted under regulatory guidelines. "

At least wait until someone dies. Or until the trout begin to decompose.

Obama will swap no loopholes for a lower corporate rate

Obama Offers to Cut Corporate Tax Rate to 28% - NYTimes.com: "WASHINGTON — President Obama will ask Congress to scrub the corporate tax code of dozens of loopholes and subsidies to reduce the top rate to 28 percent, down from 35 percent, while giving preferences to manufacturers that would set their maximum effective rate at 25 percent, a senior administration official said on Tuesday."

Drones all over us - waiting for the first mega-accident

Drones With an Eye on the Public Cleared to Fly - NYTimes.com: "But while businesses, and drone manufacturers especially, are celebrating the opening of the skies to these unmanned aerial vehicles, the law raises new worries about how much detail the drones will capture about lives down below — and what will be done with that information. Safety concerns like midair collisions and property damage on the ground are also an issue.

American courts have generally permitted surveillance of private property from public airspace. But scholars of privacy law expect that the likely proliferation of drones will force Americans to re-examine how much surveillance they are comfortable with."

'via Blog this'

I can't wait to watch the GOP wrestle with this one. Private enterprise. Invasion of privacy. Mega safety concerns. Ironical if the drone photographed Issa on his own turf. This is an invitation to mayhem you won't believe. I can just see the video - Revenge Drone!!!!

Divisive Politicians

Politicians do not serve the people
When they sow division and conflict
No they stoke the flames of burning evil
And then deny the truth they lit the wick

Read The Sad Truth of Pete King's Illogic and His Sowing of Evil

Peter King undeterred by critics of Muslim trial - The Early Show - CBS News (CBS News) Rep. Peter King, the head of House Homeland Security Committee, begins a series of hearings Thursday on Islamic radicalism in the American Muslim community. King says the hearings are a matter of national security and is not deterred by critics who say the hearings amount to a witch hunt, unfairly singling out Muslims as potential extremists, CBS News correspondent Nancy Cordes reports. via Peter King undeterred by critics of Muslim trial - The Early Show - CBS News .

Drafted when Pete King was on a tear against Islam

Drafted when Pete King was on a tear against Islam

1. We can visit every mosque in America and say we believe in tolerance, democracy and helpfulness, three values that are not present in Pete King's mind, evidently.

2. We can write every newspaper and publish in every blog that our values are tolerance, democracy and helpfulness and that we believe that that all people have the same rights under Abba.

3. We can praise the US Islam community for its stellar work in helping our security effort against terrorism.

4. We can apologize for Pete King and indicate that we assume he will come to see, if he is honest with himself, that he committed a terribly sad error by appealing to the intolerance of Americans and casting aspersions, implicitly, on the entire Islamic community in America.

5. Every democratic rally in our country -- for we are now right in the middle of the democratic revolution sweeping the globe -- can have thirty seconds or a minute or silence to repent for the Pete King action and affirm our support for the Muslim community.

I am sure that there are many more excellent notions of how we can win over the histrionics and sad behavior of Pete King.

How Peter King's Muslim Hearings Help the Terrorists - The Daily Beast Rep. Peter King's hearings today on homegrown Muslim terrorists may not make him a McCarthy or a bigot, but the anxiety he's creating within the Muslim-American community will reduce future cooperation with law enforcement—and could help al Qaeda's recruitment. via How Peter King's Muslim Hearings Help the Terrorists - The Daily Beast.

Call me dumb but I do not agree with Rachel

Call me dumb but I do not agree with Rachel
Newt may have no chance but who's to say
Suppose he wins more delegates than Mitt
And gets more popular than yesterday

So we get to hear Newt for an hour?

Romney Bows Out of a Debate, and Others Follow - NYTimes.com: "A debate scheduled for March 1 in Atlanta was canceled after Mitt Romney’s campaign announced that the candidate had no plans to participate in the event being sponsored by CNN and the Georgia Republican Party. Two other candidates, Rick Santorum and Representative Ron Paul, quickly followed suit."

Newt would be smart to accept and go to the debate and address the empty rostrums. I think this wouod add ten points to his sad poll figures.

The real issue is that Santorum is a maniac

Mitt Romney's Thirst - NYTimes.com:

'via Blog this'

Charles Blow spends a whole column stating the obvious
Mitt Romney is unable to convince anyone that he is really a conservative
But since this is obvious why are Blow and Maddow wasting our time on it
Better to look at Santorum for what he is and sound an alarm
We elected (?) a maniac in 2000
One maniac a century is more than enough

Howdy Doody Should Sue Roy Blunt

Roy Blunt | Fired Up! Missouri: "There's been a huge kerfluffle regarding the contraception mandate and subsequent compromise that the White House rolled out last week which would require that employers and insurers cover birth control. Republicans went bonkers over the mandate and have also refused to endorse the compromise. Missouri's own Sen. Roy Blunt (R) has even gone so far to propose an amendment that would allow any employer or other healthcare provider to refrain from covering any medical service that is "contrary to the provider's religious beliefs or moral convictions."

In short? Your boss could control every single one of your medical decisions."

Is President Obama Peaking Too Early

Economy Lifts Obama in New York Times/CBS News Poll - NYTimes.com: "President Obama’s political standing is rising along with voters’ optimism that the economy is getting better, according to the latest New York Times/CBS News poll, a shift that coincides with continued Republican disquiet over the field of candidates seeking to replace him."

'via Blog this'

Let's see. The GOP makes nice on payroll tax. The Santorum surge is an Obama surge. Maybe we avoid the Mitt Superpac Monster bearing down on the President. But let's not celebrate just now. I plan to spend every day until the election acting as though the GOP is just as nasty and lethal as it seems to be whenever I see the nihilist Mitch McConnell reiterate his bilious hatred of the President.

If Santorum Takes Michigan I think Romney May Have A Comeback

In Michigan Race, Santorum Shifts to Talk of Jobs - NYTimes.com: "Rick Santorum is hoping to turn the political conversation away from the social and cultural issues that have dominated his quest for the Republican presidential nomination so far and focus instead on the economy as he prepares to compete in the big, recession-plagued battleground state of Michigan."

'via Blog this'

It's counter-intuitive, but I think a Romney come-back just might be the case. Santorum is death to the GOP because he combines a faux populism with the most illogical approach to women's health since pre-Vatican II days. The only 9option to going with Romney will be to kiss off all four nominees and try to recoup with a reluctant Bush 3. Even Bush 3 knows that would be an invitation to disaster. So the ironical result o a Santorum victory in Michigan may well be a plus for the Mittster.
