All Doors Once Open to Murdoch Are Starting to Close

British government refers News Corp’s takeover bid for BSkyB to competition regulator - The Washington Post: "LONDON — A final decision on Rupert Murdoch’s biggest takeover battle has been delayed for several months after the British government referred News Corp.’s bid for British Sky Broadcasting PLC to competition authorities, as a phone hacking scandal showed no sign of abating." I devoutly hope that FOX is next. It is an excrescence. It has nothing to do with business. It has to do with the soul of this nation. And with profound inner corruption that must be purged.

More on The Decline of Sean Hannity

A good reporter does not edit tape with malicious obviousness. Wright was reduced to a stupid soundbite or two, entirely out of context. Decent Republicans joined everyone else in holding their noses.First at Wright. Then at Hannity and FOX for overkill. Hannity repeated this overkill MO in his equally ineffective Bill Ayers vendetta. For a while, Hannity seemed to take over FOX. But eventually his repetitious attacks seemed like protesting too much. Now he remains, a shell of his former invidious self.

Hannity assured Obama a win in 2008

Overreach. Sean Hannity and his cohorts at FOX saturated the world with Reverend Wright and drove the Wright Issue into the ground. The desperate Rev. Wright swiftboating sank like a stone. We tuned it out like ads we know  backwards and forwards. If Hannity had not played Wright so pervasively, the President might not have been forced to deliver the most important message on race since "I Have A Dream." And the election would not have been a lock for President Obama. The GOP will try to modify Sean and company this time around. It will probably be a closer contest. If the Court decides it, Dems are cooked.
