Want to regurgitate without ingesting anything?

The Pink Menace - NYTimes.com: "The answer lies in the industrial production of livestock on a scale that’s far too large to sustain without significant collateral damage. E. coli, found in the digestive tracts of cattle, is common on factory farms where cattle are fed only grain. (Their stomachs are meant to digest grass.) The incomprehensible quantity of manure produced by these cattle — also often containing E. coli — is deposited on the land, sometimes seeping into the water supply; that’s how you wind up with E. coli in vegetables. To make matters worse, “healthy” farm animals are routinely fed so many antibiotics that E. coli, salmonella and other pathogens are developing resistance to commonly prescribed drugs."

Read the whole piece. Then consider that we - the Internet - are the best protection against what will be a revolution in safety all around. I can't wait until it gets to oil, construction and automobiles, my trio of economic non-starters.

Romney Exceeds W in Potential for Foreign Policy Blunders

Five times Romney flunked on foreign policy — Keeping GOP Honest:

'via Blog this'

Romney wants to resurrect the Cold War
Redo the geography of the Middle East
Rescind the zapping of Osama
Refer war decisions to his attorney
And stay in Afghanistan
But don't worry
He can deny these documented assertions in a heartbeat
And you will remain as confused as ever

Manufacturing Back? Sure. But It Could Take Off Big Time

As soon as we stop building cars and homes
And start building car free communities
With modular elements like smart walls floors and ceilings
Kiosks to replace strip malls
Cyber to replace driving everywhere
using super computers to figure out the ordinary logic of things
instead of trying to find out what we want

And give everyone their own room anywhere
And lead the world away from Koch products
To smart future products
Then the President will not only have kept his word
He will have proved his greatness

Every Day Romney Makes The GOP Sorry About Him

Here are some true things:

Ryan would benefit from property holdings he has were his budget passed
Romney continues to receive millions annually from Bain Capital
Boehner's office is open to contributing lobbyists at all times
Scalia is the Newt Gingrich of the Supreme Court
Barack Obama is going to win a second term

Judicial Disdain Is About To Be Judicial Shame Squared

Men in Black - NYTimes.com: "In 2000, the Republican majority put aside its professed disdain of judicial activism and helped to purloin the election for W., who went on to heedlessly invade Iraq and callously ignore Katrina.

As Anthony Lewis wrote in The Times back then, “Deciding a case of this magnitude with such disregard for reason invites people to treat the court’s aura of reason as an illusion.”"

President Says GOP Is Cruel and Unfair

Calling Radicalism by Its Name - NYTimes.com: "Mr. Obama provided a powerful signal on Tuesday that he intends to make this election about the Republican Party’s failure to confront, what he called, “the defining issue of our time”: restoring a sense of economic security while giving everyone a fair shot, rather than enabling only a shrinking number of people to do exceedingly well. His remarks promise a tough-minded campaign that will call extremism and dishonesty by name."

The GOP may wriggle it may squirm
But it cannot escape the simple truth
Its premises are cruel they are unfair
That's why we the people won't go there
