The current oil (Koch) economy is a tide we need not ride

How lethal are the side effects of oil economy
You would not know it from the profits that accrue
But let me number just a few
so we might get set free

Let's start with maiming and then death
on highways stretched around this sorry globe
Pedestrians and drivers and their passengers
Their final unsuspected breath

Add in the wars that have been fought
to save that sticky stuff
The owners do not fight and die
Who then the rest of us

I could go on but time is short
and it's time to decide
to find another way beyond
a tide we need not ride
That is the one that bears the sign
called global suicide
