Arcade Fire Is The Soundtrack for Alienation from Suburbia and Sprawl

What I like about Arcade Fire
is their evidently honest alienation from
sprawl and its noxious effects
I have never heard anyone
and that includes the giants of singer songwriting
who have gathered into their music
the essence of the bill of goods we were sold after WWII
It actually began with Frank Lloyd Wright's casual inclusion
of interchanges in his drawings of suburban plots
Plots are for graveyards not living
We have lost face to face
But a new century is producing some awareness
of the car's deleterious effects
And when all is said and done and we push back
it will be instructive to play some Arcade Fire as background music
