Irene appears to have passed through Manhattan according to this NYT map

I think apart from heavy rain this has been largely a nonevent here at the Manhattan epicenter which I make to be Macy's and Herald Square - seen from my window. There are vehicles moving and people visible and there is no sign of wind. I have not turned on the TV but I expect it shows the face of our Mayor saying something like an ounce of caution and we were spared.
