When Jesus talks about sinners he does not mean everyoneHe means people whose consciences are troubled because they have stolenOr lied or committed adultery or otherwise violated the commandmentsHe is ironical about the non-sinnersBut there are numerous people who really have not transgressed To these Jesus simply suggests they follow Abba's wayJesus loves sinners precisely because they realize they have problemsSince the universal healer is forgiveness he makes sureThey use the Lord's Prayer and repent daily Charles Pierce and me are soul buddies because we have no questionAbout our sinner statusAnd for that reason both of us have approached truth As little childrenAnd received untold rewards
