A big gulp must accompany any presumptions about Jesus, but my gulp comes after thirty years of largely unnoticed singing of the narrative of his life as it emerges in the gospels. From this I derive ontological values, the notion that values are something we can will and the belief that insofar as we possess any real freedom at all it is the capacity to will values. This trumps Aristotle who called characteristics values and honors Peirce for having come up with the framework for an integral philosophy before Ken Wilber started marketing obscurantism.
