What Is Aggregation and How Does It Serve

Though about half of what is published here is entirely original, the other half could be seen as aggregated. There is now some effort to create standards for aggregation. I assume one of them is to provide not merely a prominent indication of a source, but some indication that if you click on a link you will not suffer loss of any sort. Abiding by these rules seems to me reasonable. Aggregation acknowledges the value of other efforts and presents an occasion for salient addition and responses. It seems cool to do this with style and adherence to standards that are in themselves designed to advance the global conversation.
