Polls have the capacity to yank people this way and that hourly. Mr. Obama's popularity is a case in point. Given the fact that the man is not merely hated by millions and that he is routinely taken to the woodshed by everyone else regardless of their politics, ambient popularity is a given. But the American people are a canny lot. They know that Mr. Obama is a better risk than anything the GOP is now offering. So does the rank and file in the GOP. Which is why we will have a brouhaha in Tampa. No Mitt coronation prior to that. Steady as we go should be the sanity mantra. Regardless of who the GOP puts forward, she or he will be committed to an agenda of doom. We will want to bring one person to vote Democratic for every vile dollar the Koch Brothers invest in doom..
