Ripples go out from the recession
The greed of Goldman and other GOP supporters
and the resulting evisceration of local governments
The recession contributed to the advance of poverty
Being poor and on edge may create a hostility to authority
Police aren't better off than the rest of the declining middle class
But they represent the folk who have property and power
Ripples go out and some perish
Perhaps this tendency is a harbinger of mass movement
A movement to level the playing field
We live in a GOP-cowed society that cannot even train people for
jobs that exist in abundance
for lack of government aid
In a universe of non-cooperation
of stonewall GOP recalcitrance
the best wills in the world are thwarted
When the tumbrels roll for the next police officer
Say a kyrie for a country on GOP-created skids
