Adam came to Williams College with an unusual thought. He was going to study. To apply himself. Make Dean’s List. Prove to himself that he could do it. He chose courses with care. It was possible to get through Williams with merely one science credit. There was no math requirement. Adam put off the science and chose courses like political science, English and history. There was only one problem. It did not take him a week to begin developing a cordial dislike for the college. He was not sure why, though he was able to answer the question in due time. For the moment he had a willing compatriot who felt exactly the same way.
