Regarding a petition I have started at for car-free communities

I just created a petition: President Obama: Enable the creation of sustainable car-free communities , because I care deeply about this very important issue.
I'm trying to collect 100 signatures, and I could really use your help.
To read more about what I'm trying to do and to sign my petition, click here:

It'll just take a minute!
Once you're done, please ask your friends to sign the petition as well. Grassroots movements succeed because people like you are willing to spread the word!

Would you like living in a car-free community, with all the amenities of a city within less than a mile walk?

I have set up a q and a node at Quora to address the issue of car free communities.
The question is

Here is a comment I just left in response to one of the answers:
I am assuming that delivery will be massively expanded in the future and that all businesses will need to deliver locally and globally. I envision kiosks with one or two employees serving a specialized cluster of enterprises. The employees would have expertise and help facilitate both purchases and deliveries.

Naxalites are continuing violent assaults in India.

Naxalites are continuing violent assaults in India. Largely unknown beyond India, they espouse Maoism at a time when the world seems to be moving more and more to some accommodation between democratic ideals and free market economies.

I sometimes wonder how ordinary people anywhere can have a positive impact on conflicts like this which have killed more than 800 persons over a decade. Knowledge may be a small help at least.

Security concerns over Naxalite arrests in urban Maharashtra - Economy and Politics - "Suresh Dwadashiwar, group editor of Marathi newspaper Lokmat and author of the book Eka Naxlyacha Janma (Birth of a Naxalite), said, "I am not at all surprised as urban areas were always on the radar of the Naxalites."

He also cited a recent interview of CPI-ML leader Koteshwar Rao who said that the aim was to overthrow the present parliamentary democratic system by 2025 and install a revolutionary government in Delhi.

118.   But this seems to be in conflict with our conception of Being, particularly as derived from the notion of symbol; which, however, is solidly founded, too. We now begin to see the sense of talking of modes of being. They are elements of co√∂peration toward the summum bonum. The categories now come in to aid us materially, and we clearly make out three modes or factors of being, which we proceed to make clear to ourselves. Arrived at this point, we can construct a Weltanschauung. From this platform, ethics acquires a new significance, as will be shown. Logic, too, shines forth with all its native nobility. Common men carry this Weltanschauung in their breasts; and perhaps the pimp, the looting missionary, the Jay Gould, may, through the shadows of their degradation, catch now and then a purer glimpse of it, than the most earnest of citi…

My father and I once pushed a huge stone

My father and I once pushed a huge stoneDown a steep hill through thick brush and treesWe thought to make a path that would break throughBut we were dreaming as we always didAnd when we finally reached the lower roadThe stone was nowhere to be seenAnd I knew then there would be no more dreams
