It is hard to imagine anything silent in a nation  that has turned decibels into a macabre achievement test What I mean by a silent coup  is the cumulative war on the poor being waged not merely by the GOP but by Democrats as well But I mean more I mean the mainstreaming of the extreme that Al Sharpton flags I mean Issa's despicable attack on our Attorney General and the compliance of the GOP If we cannot beat the GOP we face more and more of this terrible advance on democracy Even if we win we will have the Boehner mess to clean up We are on a knife edge
