This is not the year for civility.
We have not even reached the apex of rage.
It is not merely the inequality
Or even the creeping poverty.
It is the ongoing and virtually assured strangling of democracy
If our government remains in the hands of the top one percent
Who can instruct both parties
And be assured of the response
Of a cowering dog.
We shall overcome on this day of all days.
When there is no repentance rage will take the stage.
Not violence but grim and deep resolve
To have our voice again.
