The World Beyond Cars - Excerpt

The World Beyond Cars - speculative fiction: "Bellingham turned and walked down the slight incline. There were ten such gentle spirals in the whole complex, each allowing movement up and down the four levels. Side ways appeared at irregular intervals, allowing passage to and from the center areas. Every 200 feet or so there was a level space with tables and chairs or childrens' play equipment. Almost everything had a retractable top. Whenever there was rain it was almost entirely collected, flowing down to a subterranean area where water was recycled. There was no waste. Everything was used. Just as Bellinghan had imagined before there ever were cyber-communities."
