Three reasons Jesus died, ignored by the creeds

The first three lines above, from Abba's way, imagine Jesus speaking. How different they are from the creedsHow close they are to the Jesus of the gospelsAnd how close are the final two lines to the wondrous statement in Mark 1That Abba is close at handAnd that THAT is the good news

Mildred Purse does not want to see the nation strapped to the top of a car in a windowless container

The GOP should be called the Risk Party. It puts all women at RISK. It puts the elderly at RISK. It puts investors at RISK. It RISKS more foreign adventures. I do not want to see my beloved country strapped to the top of a vehicle in a windowless container heading for yet another precipice. And most of my republican friends agree with me. We're voting for the fellow that Susan Eisenhower supported last time out. Our dear, level-headed President.

There is only one surefire way for Obama to win

Will Romney win the nomination? Probably. Will a third party emerge on his right? Not impossible. In which case he definitely would lose to Obama

Assuming a two person race, is the Obama message a winning one? Not yet. Read on.

If Obama is perceived as a level-headed leader who can keep America safe while continuing to bring us back from the Bush Cliff and make domestic progress, he wins. But only with a winning message.

If the GOP attack proves effective and people actually believe the GOP line and if Romney pulls off the near-miracle of not making a gaffe a day, then the GOP has a chance. In which case it is essential that Obama has the right message.

My future posts will follow this rule. After all, would you want to see the nation strapped to the top of a car in a windowless container? Don't trade a s…

Can Police Deaths Be Attributed to GOP Parsimony?

Ripples go out from the recession The greed of Goldman and other GOP supporters  and the resulting evisceration of local governments The recession contributed to the advance of poverty   Being poor and on edge may create a hostility to authority Police aren't better off than the rest of the declining middle class But they represent the folk who have property and power Ripples go out and some perish Perhaps this tendency is a harbinger of mass movement A movement to level the playing field We live in a GOP-cowed society that cannot even train people for jobs that exist in abundance for lack of government aid In a universe of non-cooperation of stonewall GOP recalcitrance the best wills in the world are thwarted When the tumbrels roll for the next police officer Say a kyrie for a country on GOP-created skids

Abba's Way surmises that Jesus wishes to speak to today's world

Abba's Way surmises that Jesus wishes to speak to today's world, beseeching it to understand and will the  ontological values that lie at the center of the change he sought to bring about. They are tolerance, helpfulness, democracyand underlying everything non-idolatryMORE
