Was Julian Assange's Swedish Accuser A CIA Plant?

Assange Accuser Worked with US-Funded, CIA-Tied Anti-Castro Group | MyFDL: "Yesterday Alexander Cockburn reminded us of the news Israel Shamir and Paul Bennett broke at Counterpunch in September.   Julian Assange’s chief accuser in Sweden has a significant history of work with anti-Castro groups, at least one of which is US funded and openly supported by a former CIA agent convicted in the mass murder of seventy three Cubans on an airliner he was involved in blowing up."

Here is how to follow Abba's way

Here is how to follow Abba's way
Say the Lord's prayer silently each day
Practice tolerance democracy
Helpfulness and non-idolatry

Not judging is the hardest thing of all

Not judging is the hardest thing of all
Allowing life to be amor fati
And yet as time's succeeding footsteps fall
The hardest thing is what makes us most free

Mildred Purse offers Ted Nugent a free padded cell

I am not a woman of means but I have connections and I have located an actual padded cell in a Massachusetts establishment for the mentally deranged. I am seeking assistance from some wealthy friends in the helping professions. This Nugent boy makes Mel Gibson appear reasonable. That means he is very close to the edge and we have no inkling of what he will say or do next. I think a few weeks in this cell will cool him off a bit. If you see men in white coats with a net chasing an odd looking fellow, you will know that my efforts are succeeding;

Is there a move from Yuppie self regard to Gen Y care for all

The key to self realization is care for all
For minus penitence we all are bound to fall
Forgiveness leads to universal care
And all who know this do find freedom there

Are we headed for a monster fall on the tax reform front?

The National Memo » The Win-Win Tax Reform Fantasy: "To have any real impact on either revenues or tax rates, Congress would have to be willing to consider the big ones: the tax deduction for mortgage interest on high-end houses, the deduction for employer-paid health insurance (which would be far more disruptive than the Affordable Care Act), charitable contributions, or the special rate for capital gains. Much of the complexity of the tax code is now at the low end, in the myriad of credits that are partially refundable, such as the Child Tax Credit. While these should be simplified, the goal of doing so shouldn’t be to raise revenue, since it would mean raising taxes on lower-income workers."

This is why this is the hottest potato of all. When rubber hits road, no one dares act.  The alternative is to come up with the Sustainability Invention that has not been created yet. Failing that Road Warrior weirdness. 24/7 reality TV.

Mildred Purse Lauds The Tea Party for Ensuring Democratic Victories

Actually, I am close to being Tea Party myself, living, as I do, here on Mt. Vernon Street, Beacon Hill. I am a liberty maven, no doubt about it. So I praise the TP folk who are busily losing elections for the venal Republicans and ensuring Democratic victories. It is a sad commentary on the Democrats that they cannot win without Tea Party assistance. My colleague thinks that the Democrats have no idea how to win on their own even though they have some fine arguments and history is on their side. I am working on helping them out of this jam.

Cars will not be as needed in the future as they are now

This book was badly reviewed
It was seen as a rant
If you have a Kindle
For less than the price of a Grande
or nothing if you are Select
You can learn why I think that
Cars will not be as needed in the future
as they are now
and other things that most people do not think
Surely a rant is worth something

Mark's gospel illuminates an unconquerable iconoclastic freedom within

The gospel of Mark is the earliest statement
of who Jesus is
The earliest written text I mean
It combines two strands
The Jesus who is close to the cynics and
primarily a teacher
Iconoclastic impatient and utterly convinved of
Abba's presence and power
Even Harold Bloom understands that there is something special
about the Markan treatment of Jesus
This teacher thread is intermingled with a narrative from start to finish
of an ignominious death
Had we no creeds to take the meat of this and massage it into
litmus tests miles away from the actuality
we would see that insofar as there is any explanation
it is that Jesus could do no other
just as we can do no other
Abba's way or the highway
It is the only way that insists on and validates an
unconquerable freedom within

The Tao of Mark

Let's Declare War on All Bullies

Let's declare war on all bullies
Which is to declare war on that part of us that is
bullying
Yes we divide at our peril
We solve nothing when we do
The war on bullying is a war for the only freedom
we possess
Despite the prevarications of those who would
deny us the dignity of freedom
by seeking out some mechanistic thing they call a cause
We need to emerge from 500 years of I-ness
  to combat the bully instinct
Our freedom lives in each of us
It  is what enables us to see the world as
Jesus saw it
As a place where by our own decision we can change our conduct
Without this we are lost in the nominalist cesspool
Condemned to listen to  talking heads explain causality
