In Defense of The Obama Civil Liberties Record

How Obama Became a Civil Libertarian's Nightmare | | AlterNet:

How do you defend the indefensible
I don't know
For example I see no reason for the
President allowing Bradley Manning to waste away behind bars

But let me suggest
that the President has made up his mind
to try to break the syndrome of ground wars
that has been our downfall since the end of WW2

He is therefore willing to throw meat to the Right Wing
so he can achieve a grand purpose

Is this an end that justifies such means

Perhaps

Someone I will not name once said that
if you worry about ends and means all the time
in the rough and tumble of power politics
you wind up on your end
without any means

Jesse Kelly Good to Have Neo-Nazi's in Your Corner

What’s going viral: Jesse Kelly Supported by Groups Tied to White Supremacists, Neo-Nazis - Hispanic Politico: "Apparently no longer satisfied to simply spew out-of-touch rhetoric about eliminating Social Security and imposing a 23 percent tax on southern Arizonans, now Jesse Kelly has doggedly pursued the support of a group with known white supremacist, anti-Semitic and neo-Nazi ties. Kelly accepted the endorsement of Americans for Legal Immigration or ALIPAC – the same group that Senator John McCain’s spokesman condemned earlier this year as “backed by white supremacists, neo-Nazis and anti-Semites.” McCain’s office went further, characterizing ALIPAC as an “extreme groups that condone[s] racism.”"

Stop Romney and Other Woman Haters in Their Tracks

Take a Stand to Protect Women - DSCC: Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee:

The US GOP Senate is a cauldron of boiling disgust.

I spent a lot of time trying to come up with an image for Mitt. Here is all I was able to do.

The Critic's Prison and a Way Out

The Critic's Prison is the constriction caused by trying to say what someone meant
This is prevalent in the analysis of Bob Dylan songs
Long blocks of text that surmise what the man means

How about what it means to you
How you understand it
Freedom

The Critic's Prison is presuming to interpret the creator
to explain what the creator had in mind
What would be gained
Does the artist know

Masses of so-called criticism and scholarship would be spared existence
merely by confining analysis and criticism to
Your understanding
your appreciation
your sense of it

The rest is the judgment Jesus warns us against
The rest is Critic's Prison
the prevalent status of a vast amount of discourse

Mitch Daniels Presents Mitt Romney with A Dunce Cap

Mitch Daniels, Indiana Governor, Expresses Disappointment With Mitt Romney's Rhetoric: "Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels expressed disappointment in Mitt Romney's rhetoric, stating that the former Massachusetts governor and likely GOP presidential nominee "doesn't talk" like he is campaigning to govern, and hasn't effectively outlined how his policies will affect "the young and the poor.""

Nice try Mitch. But wysiwyg. Rotten treatment of young and poor. Not to mention women, men, animals, insects. The whole kahuna. We are being delivered into the courts of the Louies if we think this guy wouldn't exult when the guillotine drops. But we know what's up, don't we Mitch. You are grading Mitt a failure on schedule to vault to the nomination yourself. Be careful or I will report you to Al Sharpton.

Mildred Purse Says The Pot is Filled with Filthy Lucre

Money Rules in Washington Politics - NYTimes.com: "The candidate who truly wants to impress voters would put an end to special-access retreats for big donors and would promise not to check a donation list when granting White House access. Mr. Obama, in particular, promised in 2008 to fix a “broken” public financing system that allows oversize donations. He opted out of the system, and the country is still waiting for that promise to be fulfilled."

I am at a loss. Our Dear President is no Mitt Romney. He is at least capable of shame. But how can I slam Mitt with appropriate flair if I must also admit that our President is feeding at the same trough. I suppose folk will call me naive. I choose to think that I am speaking for the nauseated majority. We don't know if it would make a massive difference and Romney would not stop if the President did, but somewhere in all this there is a solution. I've got it. Mr. President, line your fat cats up on a stage and make them dance in unison with large signs around their necks proclaiming who they are and what they hope to get for their filthy lucre. It's the least you can do. Do not be the instrument of  your own destruction.

Mildred Purse's Global Economic Meltdown Pie Recipe

Fears Rise That Economic Recovery May Falter in the Spring - NYTimes.com:

Take one Romney and one Cheney and throw them in a pot of rancid oil and turn up the heat until they become a trifle alarmed. Then ask them if they wish to continue to predicate the global economic future on the spread of sprawl until everyone is alienated, drug crazed, broke and divided beyond the capacity of any shrink in Christendom to unite. When they look at each other blankly and Cheney calls the Secret Service to shoot you on sight, slather yourself in the black stuff and roll on the ground until you are comatose.

Please send this to the GOP ASAP. Inundate them.
